About Hounsfield Lab

Hounsfield Lab is a directory of open-source and downloadable software for medical AI development, curated by a practicing neuroradiologist. It covers radiology first, plus pathology, clinical NLP and EHR tooling.

How we list tools

• Every entry links to its public repository or official download.
• License and last-update dates come from GitHub repository metadata (snapshot: Oct 13, 2026).
• Maintained means the repo was updated within the last 12 months. Stale means it wasn’t.
• COMM summarizes the license we read by hand: Permissive, Copyleft (GPL/AGPL), Non-commercial, or Verify (custom terms or separate model-weight terms). It is not legal advice.

What we are not

Listings aren’t endorsements, medical advice, or claims of regulatory clearance. Most tools here are for research use.
